Ancora sul Web 2.0
English version availableTutti parlano di Web 2.0, qualcuno ci fa anche una tesi di laurea.
Tutti danno la loro interpretazione su cos’è il Web 2.0 ma pochi ne individuano le origini, ciò che ha reso possibile la sua nascita e la relativa diffusione.
Personalmente ritengo che il merito sia da attribuire prevalentemente all’open source. Grazie all’open source sono nati e si sono diffusi progetti e strumenti grazie ai quali il web è diventato economicamente accessibile a tutti.
Per questo motivo credo che Microsoft abbia poco a che fare con il Web 2.0. Nessun progetto Web 2.0 è basato su tecnologia Microsoft (eccezion fatta per i progetti della stessa Microsoft, come ad esempio MSN). I costi non lo permetterebbero. Ed è per questo che, a mio avviso, se Microsoft vorrà far parte di questa rivoluzione dovrà cambiare strategia commerciale.
Still on Web 2.0
Everyone talks about Web 2.0 and about what it is but very few people talk about why Web 2.0 was born and where we can find its origins.
I think that Web 2.0 was born thanks to the open source. Open source technologies and projects gave people the ability to be on the web without any cost.
For this reason, to me, Microsoft didn’t play any role in the Web 2.0 revolution. None of the most known Web 2.0 projects are based on MS technology (except for Microsoft’s projects themselves like MSN & co.). It would cost too much. This is why, to me, if Microsoft wants to play a role in the Web 2.0 market it will be necessary to change its commercial policies in the future.
